Jacqueline is an experienced businesswoman. Her personal characteristics are characterized as creative, allround and enthusiastic.

During her study Dutch-Communication, she discovered how difficult it was to get a clear picture of how you could protect a new name or idea as an entrepreneur. To graduate, she set up an intellectual property information plan and this resulted in the start of her own trademark agency in 1992, ultimately responsible for a team of employees and managing more than 6000 brands. A few years ago she chose to transfer the responsibility of this practice to another agency. She also studied additional Intellectual Property Law and completed a Marketing study with an MBM Master of Brand Management.

Jacqueline has more than 29 years of experience as a trademark and design attorney for among others, SMEs, corporate and international clients. She also has experience in writing and giving training courses, workshops and guest lectures in the field of intellectual property. She also regularly writes blogs on this subject.

Sitting still is not for her, as a real brand attorney the profession keeps pulling, that is why she has been working at LIOC since 2020 and initially contributed to the online marketing and optimization of the IP management system. Today she works in the Trademarks and Designs department, where she deals with national and international trademark and design procedures. She takes care of, among other things, trademark searches, filing of trademark and design applications, renewal of their rights and trademark monitoring. In addition to day-to-day advice, she also handles related opposition, refusal procedures and infringement cases. You can also contact her for more complex strategic brand advice at an international level.

By combining studies, she brings together the worlds of marketing and law for clients, which are often far apart in brand development. She is committed to long-term partnerships, based on commitment, involvement and trust.

Jacqueline is a BMM licensed Benelux trademark attorney and is registered with the European trademark office as an EU trademark and design attorney.

If you ask Jacqueline if she has a favorite brand, she answers: “the choice is difficult… I have seen so many beautiful brands, I have taken Olli® in my heart and I also really like  allocacoc® “Nothing is what it seems”. Jacqueline van der Sluis.
