With Chloé, the customer comes first. Her personal characteristics are characterized as ambitious and sporty.

She studied Dutch law at the Radboud University in Nijmegen. During her master’s degree she specialized in intellectual property law and wrote her master’s thesis in copyright law.

During her studies she did not shy away from volunteering and worked for some time at the Stichting “Kinder- en Jeugdrechtswinkel Nederland”, where she helped young people with free legal advice. She did an internship in the Intellectual Property department at various law firms in Breda and Amsterdam, among others. After all the theory of the study, her interest in intellectual property was further fueled by this practical experience.

Since 2019, she has been strengthening the team at LIOC as Formalities Officer in the Patents Department and is fully involved in national and international patent procedures. She takes care of, among other things, the filing of patent applications, the contact with clients and authorities, registers transfers of patent rights in the relevant registers and ensures the timely renewal of the annual fees.

Ambitious as she is, she is currently following the Certified Formalities Officer training.

If you ask Chloé what she likes about this profession, she answers: ”the contact with the clients”. Chloe van Schaik.
